SELFISH ME
This is a video triptych that consists of still
photographs, Super 8 B&W film, and digital video.
The DVD presentation of this work allows you to
watch any of the components individually or the
three together. The film was shot in Stony Point, NY,
Pittsfield, MA, and Brooklyn, NY.
This piece was originally conceptualized in the fall of
2003 as an installation to be viewed on three walls of
a dark room. The basic idea was to create an
atmospheric setting using juxtaposition for the
characters to exist in. The themes I wanted to show
were based around the needs for consumption, love,
fetish, and death. These themes are split up into 5
vignettes with three potential perspectives.
